Great French gilt case shelf with Porcelain panels both above and below the dial. The case is in good original condition retaining most of the original gilding. The dial is the true focal point of this clock containing multi colored flowers flanked by a pink chapter ring. There are no hairlines or chips at all in the dial or the panels on the clock. The brass hands are original and look great against the dial. The 8 day French movement has been fully overhauled and is running great striking on a cathedral gong instead of the usual bell most French clocks strike on. Very soft sounds on the hour and half hour. The pendulum serial # matches the movement. Overall a very nice original example of a gilt shelf clock from the late 1800's.
